Mark Anstey is CEO of Human Systems Development in South Africa and Director of the Labour Relations Unit at the University of Port Elizabeth. A prolific author, he has 6 books and over 50 articles to his credit. He has traveled extensively as a visiting scholar to teach, speak at international conferences, and to investigate shifts in the labour and political systems of the USA, the UK, Sweden, Germany, Australia, Hungary, Turkey and Tanzania.
During South Africa’s political transition, he acquired extensive experience as a mediator in labour and community disputes. For over two decades he has advised and trained in the private, public and non–profit sectors, providing assistance to employers, trade unions, government and welfare organizations at strategic and operational levels. He is a graduate of the Universities of the Witwatersrand (BA, MA) and Port Elizabeth (D.Phil).
